The Pueblos have shrines (or sacred areas) on certain mountain peaks. In creating this piece, I imagined a moment of communion of spirits and prayer. This golden eagle has landed on a shrine high on a summit peak and there is an exchange of energy that strengthens and nourishes the pirit of the eagle and the prayers of the pueblo people.

The shrine has petroglyph images of a raincloud, lightning, rainbow, corn, the sun, the moon, a star, a hunter, and the yin/yang energies. My goal was to evoke a feeling of sacredness and convey the inner connectedness of the spirit of the eagle, the human experience and the ancient ones.
