As we came out of Covid and into a new time, I thought of the issues and concerns it has created and how these flow into our lives and at times create unwelcome changes, there can be challenging realizations. Then I thought, it’s important to have faith and belief in seeing all the Good in Life, this inspired me to create a piece that speaks of Creator and of our Emergence.

The first question I asked myself was how could I symbolize our Creator in a sculpture? Then I thought of the circle. I love the thought that inside the circle would be empty space, this will become my symbol for the Creator’s energy, pure potential. One of the ways I’ve heard our Creator described is “Centered everywhere, Circumference nowhere”, that came to mind when creating the circle within this sculpture.

The colors continue the story, from our Creator is the color of pure white, giving way to the deep blue colors of the universe, it can also be seen as the deep blue colors of the depths of water. From the circle comes a movement giving way to the Female and Male energies. The two rise up into colors I see representing love and relationship, encircling motion, each figure is leaning into each other. The butterflies and dragonflies represent the natural changes we all grow through in Life. I believe we can look back upon our lives and see the symbolic metamorphosis that we’ve gone through to become the people we are today. Their faces are composed of Altars representing multiple life times experienced. Their eyes are shaped differently, for we all see the world with unique perspectives. The Sun and Moon represent the non-physical realm and our Soul’s connection to Spirit, the constant receiving of guidance.
