Bull Elk : Emerging from the Spirit Series

The Bull Elk is the second of the big game animals to come from the Emerging from Spirit series. It is a personal exploration about the relationship of Pueblo people and the ceremonies that honor and give reverence to the wildlife that is significant to our way of life.

The incised images are similar to those found in my other works. The segmented circle with the elk hoof print within it symbolizes the Angel that gives the Elk guidance. The symbols for female and male energy are beside the symbol of the infinity of life. The Father Sun, Mother Moon and the Star of the Child are acknowledged. Lastly, the arrowhead is a symbol that represents the Pueblo hunters.
